Moon Pie Eating Contest Disclosure

Note: Participants need to be at the Downtown Gazebo by 1:45 to check in. All participants MUST sign up online or sign a waiver in person before participating.

The Moon Pie Eating Contest at the Lynchburg Frontier Days, hosted by the Lynchburg Moore County Chamber of Commerce and its sponsors, is intended to be a fun and enjoyable event. However, participation in this contest carries certain risks. By entering this contest, each participant agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Assumption of Risk: Participants acknowledge and understand that participation in the Moon Pie Eating Contest involves inherent risks, including but not limited to choking, allergic reactions, and other potential health hazards. Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with their participation in this contest.

2. Medical Condition: Participants declare that they are in good health and do not have any medical conditions that would make it inadvisable for them to participate in the contest. Participants should not enter the contest if they are aware of any health issues that could be aggravated by participation.

3. Liability Waiver: By entering the contest, participants agree to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Lynchburg Moore County Chamber of Commerce, its officers, employees, agents, sponsors, and any other affiliated parties from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, or causes of action that may arise from their participation in the contest, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, or death.

4. Indemnification: Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Lynchburg Moore County Chamber of Commerce and its sponsors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from or related to their participation in the contest.

5. Parental Consent for Minors: Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian read and agree to these terms on their behalf. The parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver and consent form, acknowledging that they have read and understood these terms and agree to assume full responsibility for the minor's participation in the contest.
